A running job jar of ideas and notes on the construction
of the
centrale compagno sub-section of Orcmid's Lair on the web.
The construction job jar is for tasks about the construction of the compagno subsection, and its content. It is not about the projects involving compagno, although there is overlap because some of the activities are represented in this subsection in some way. During early construction when there is mostly scaffolding and little other organized content, there will be other project items mixed in here for expediency.

| 2005-02-07 | Create a story about compagno that blends into the arrival of Blocco. In particular, have the analysis of what is invested in Compagno since I bought it. | |
| 2004-01-10 | I need to uninstall DB2 although there is no hurry. It will free up some resources. I certainly need to free up the accounts that I created along with installation of DB2. I don't sense that DB2 takes much by way of resources when I am not using it. And the startup overheads that I and classmates observe with it seem to be attributable to Java startup overheads. | |
| 2004-01-10 | I also have a problem with how long NAV takes on Compagno (something over 8 hours) and I am not sure why. If it is doing a scan in the background while I am doing something else, that can be painful. It may be how priorities are adjusted between processes. But it doesn't work great, whatever it is. | |
| 2004-01-10 | I have a problem with Norton Antivirus and Windows Installer running in the background and sucking cycles. I think Installer is doing whatever it does to detect damage to files and NAV is busy watching it do that. I cure the problem by not letting MSI operate automatically. Sometimes I forget. | |
| 2004-01-10 | I have a problem with Norton Antivirus not completing on Compagno. The machine hangs, usually with the keyboard and mouse not working. The processor is running and there is power, and the screen is dark. It doesn't always happen. I haven't figured it out. | |
