Folder Convention

Although the normal mapping of com.orcmid to file-system structures is via a com/orcmid/ directory tree, we use the abbreviated form here for two reasons:

The structure is not intended to be included in a Java class path for direct use

It is used only for publishing components under the com.orcmid package and sub-package names, making it unnecessary to waste a subdirectory level.

General Approach

This is a web-site presence that provides a physical manifestation of Java package qualifier com.orcmid.
It collects packaged software under that qualifier
It provides an access point for JavaDoc-prepared documentation for reference from the other documentation packages, including other ones here
It provides support information, release status, and on-going development information
com.orcmid is the anchor point for all of that.
It is linked to the configuration management system so that update check-ins from the development tree are automatically visible on com.orcmid (and vice versa).

The Java com.orcmid Projects materials will expand on this approach.
