Great to read your news and get your new address and phone.
(Also
reassuring to know that snailmail forwarding actually works.) Sorry
Vicki
can't come (congrats to her!), but I'm looking forward to discussing
your
themes, the scholarly/teaching life, etc. with you.

Greetings
Hello!
We received your invitation to the Holiday Open
House. Reminded us that we
haven't given you our new address and phone
numbers. They are below.
We moved to West Seattle in
August-September and are now basically moved
in.
It is around the corner
from Vicki's pottery studio - she is the Artist in
Residence at the Pottery
School of West Seattle!
That means we both get to walk to work. I
have an office/lab in the
basement, Vicki has her studio and also a nice
study that we created for
her
in the second bedroom of our small and
perfect rented house.
My lab is really a lab now. I finally nerved
myself up and networked our
computers together. I am now awaiting the
ADSL modem for the shared
broadband connection. My laptop is not
connected yet, though I have
everything to do it with.
I talked to
Bill Anderson on Friday. I visited with Bill and Susan in Rye,
NY, when
I was in New York City this past April, also.
Bill and I have been
discussing the recurring CS themes that come up for
us,
and we are looking
for a complementary area where we might take on a
project
together.
I am going to post something about themes on my web site. I
want
to consult you about that and bounce my themes off of you too. I
have
been putting off getting in touch about it until I had more ready
(sigh).
One area I want to look at is taking on more of life as a
scholar-teacher
and thought you could give me some pointers.
[I don't
really want to teach Java programming, but what the hell, if that
is what it
takes to have an entry to the local CS-academic community, I
guess it will be
character-building!]
Vicki is going to be busy on the 15th, but I will
come by.
Regards and best wishes,
